Sopra Steria, one of the biggest European information technology consultancy groups has in the past couple of months held an extensive in-house security training course using Hack The Box professional labs. The two companies shared knowledge and services in order for this to become a reality.
The training was focused on the information security consultants improving their penetration testing techniques and security awareness. The goal of this course and workshop was to change the trainees’ perspective on the security of common and frequently used ICT systems. Through detailed attack path analysis and role playing demonstrations, the trainees learnt the impact of seemingly harmless actions and how the different pieces of information they gathered allowed them to execute well-planned, targeted attacks on many different ICT systems. Discussions on proper reactions and responses took place in order to enhance the trainees’ critical thinking towards malicious intrusion attempts and their consequences.
Hoping to extend this cooperation, Sopra Steria and Hack The Box are already having discussions about refreshing their agreement for 2018, with the goal of teaching more courses using Hack The Box professional labs.
Hack The Box is an online platform allowing you to test your penetration testing skills and exchange ideas and methodologies with other members of similar interests. It contains several challenges that are continuously updated. Some of them simulating real world scenarios and some of them leaning more towards a CTF style of challenge.
As an individual, you can complete a simple challenge to prove your skills and then create an
account, allowing you to connect to our private network (HTB Labs) where several machines await for you to hack them. By hacking machines you get points that help you advance in the Hall of Fame.
