HTB Account: one account to rule them all

Learn how to create and use HTB Account to simplify your login experience.

dimimele JXoaT, Oct 10,
2024

We've been working hard this year and are thrilled to introduce HTB Account—a unified single account management solution that simplifies your Hack The Box experience.

With HTB Account, you can seamlessly access HTB Labs, Academy, CTF, and Enterprise using just one set of login credentials. No more juggling multiple accounts!

Starting November 12, 2024, all HTB platforms will fully transition to HTB Account as the sole login option. If you haven’t linked your accounts by then, don’t worry—we’ll automatically create an HTB Account for you and unify your credentials across platforms (if they match).

(Don’t worry everything is encrypted, we don’t know your password)

Important: If you use different credentials for different platforms (e.g., HTB Enterprise and HTB Labs), link your accounts before the end of October to avoid duplicate logins!

Why HTB Account?

Centralized management for all HTB platforms

Your HTB account will allow you to set up features to control your overall use. It is a one-stop shop for configuring all your settings for all HTB platforms.

For example, you can implement two-factor authentication for all platforms in the HTB account, making it easier to keep your accounts secure.

As an Enterprise user, the HTB Account also keeps your progress in sync across all platforms. If you complete a machine in HTB Labs, it will automatically show up in your Enterprise account.

Check this article to see how it works with HTB Academy and this article for HTB Labs.

Easy access and external login services

One set of credentials lets you seamlessly jump between HTB Labs, CTF, Academy, and Enterprise.

You can also use Google or LinkedIn as your external login service (via Oauth) for passwordless authentication.

Connect your personal, academic, and professional accounts

With the Secondary Email option, you can link multiple emails to your HTB Account—perfect for students and professionals. This way you can keep your progress intact even if you lose access to an academic or work email.

How do I set up my HTB account?

Setting up your HTB Account is quick and easy:

  1. Existing HTB Labs Users: You already have an HTB Account! Use your HTB Labs credentials to log in and connect your other accounts.

  2. New Users: Visit the login page and follow the steps to create an HTB Account. Once logged in, go to your profile settings to link your accounts across platforms.

For businesses and teams

If you're using HTB Enterprise, setting up your HTB Account is essential for seamless access to all HTB platforms.

And don’t worry, when you link your HTB Account to the HTB Enterprise Platform, your company will only see your enterprise account info, not your personal HTB account information.

How to set up as an existing enterprise user:

  • Go to your profile settings.

  • Click on “Link to HTB Account”

  • Register with your personal email, and your work email will be added as a secondary email.

Note: If you already have an HTB Labs account, note that you already have an HTB Account created for you and you should just use the HTB Labs credentials to log in to your HTB Account.

How do I connect my accounts?

Once your HTB Account is set up, you can personalize, secure, and connect your different credentials using the following features.

Product Settings Tab

  • Link your various product accounts and view the platforms currently linked to your HTB Account.

  • To link a new credential, click "Link Account" and provide the necessary credentials.

User Settings Tab

  • Edit your personal information, avatar, country, ISC2 ID, and more.

  • Ensure your profile is up-to-date with your preferences

Account Security Tab:

  • Configure your two-factor authentication (2FA) and manage connected apps.
